![]() ![]() This should not be an issue on this host machine, as it has the following basic specifications: This ticket interferes with 15189 (crackling audio with Windows (10) guests on Linux hosts) but I will keep it open because this ticket has the extra information that this problem apparently started recently with VBox 5.1.12 (5.1.10 was fine) and the guest is Windows XP which most likely uses AC97 while Windows 10 uses HDA. ![]() The Windows XP startup sound has the same stutter and lag, so I disabled it in control panel on the guest. This problem is temporarily fixed when I use the Test Hardware wizard through the Audio Properties, but that only works until the VM changes sound drivers, whether it be by restarting or running a DOS application that uses a bleeper. Now I want to use the guest system Win XP on another Win 10 host. After the conversion from Win 7 to Win 10, the guest system continued to run without problems.
